2. Cleansing the temple

Cain and the traveler were standing outside the church watching the sunset, before they walked inside, for a vespers program. The topic was the cleansing of the temple. The speaker read: The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. Joh 2:17 After the vespers there was a board meeting. In the fellowship hall a table had been prepared. Traveler and Cain watched as the board members walked in. A lady came through the door and filled the last seat. Traveler was shocked. She is a thief he said. Why is there a thief on the board? Everyone looked uncomfortable. No one replied. Zacchaeus , in the Bible, knew that he was a thief, and in order to have treasure in heaven, he must repent and make things right. Jesus said: “This day is salvation come to this house”. To have salvation we must repent of our sins, leave them behind, and no longer live in sin. By having this woman on the board you are sanctioning her sin and are thereby complicit. Jesus says: “It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.“

Suddenly Jesus himself appeared in the room. The light of His glory was so bright that everyone fell down. Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; Rev 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.Mal 3:1b-3:3 “the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”When Jesus cleansed the temple all sin was removed, so in our day will the church be cleansed, and all sin removed.
